Architectural Painting & Finishes

Architectural painting and finishing is United Painting's core trade. United Painting paints and finishes interior and exterior architectural surfaces for new construction, renovation, maintenance and repainting projects, in commercial buildings as well as industrial and federal facilities.

Painting activities are coordinated with the project schedule, the other trades on site, facility requirements, surface-preparation needs and the project specification.

Scope

Interior and exterior surfaces

Interior work covers walls, ceilings, doors, door frames and other interior architectural surfaces. Exterior work covers exterior walls and building surfaces. The specified finish, site access and sequencing with the other trades shape how each area is painted.

Project types

New construction, renovation and repainting

New construction. Painting delivered as part of the building schedule, alongside the general contractor and the other finishing trades.

Renovation and remodel. Painting inside existing buildings, with access and sequencing planned with the project team and the facility.

Maintenance and repainting. Repainting of existing interiors and exteriors, including buildings that stay occupied while the work is done.

Approach

Specifications, finishes and coordination

Architectural painting starts with the project specification: the surfaces to be painted, the preparation they need and the finish specified for each area. Painting is then coordinated with the general contractor, the construction schedule and the other trades, together with facility requirements such as site access.

Surface preparation is part of that planning. Where substrates need more than routine preparation, the work draws on United Painting's surface preparation and abrasive blasting capability.

Supporting scope

Drywall repair and finishing

Minor drywall repair and finishing can be coordinated with the painting scope: patching, taping, joint compound, finishing, sanding and texture, including Level 5 finishes, to prepare surfaces for final painting. This work is offered as part of the painting scope rather than as a standalone drywall installation service.

Industrial facilities. Architectural painting and finishes in industrial buildings, coordinated with facility operations and site safety procedures.

Federal and controlled facilities. Architectural painting in access-restricted environments, where site access, scheduling, documentation and confidentiality are part of how the work is carried out.
