Project Experience

United Painting has experience supporting painting and related project scopes in demanding federal and industrial environments. These projects require coordination with project teams, compliance with project-specific requirements, careful planning, and an understanding of controlled work environments.

The company's work spans three kinds of environment: commercial buildings, operating industrial facilities, and federal and controlled sites. Each sets its own working requirements.

01Commercial

Commercial buildings

Commercial work covers new construction, tenant improvements, repainting and maintenance, inside and outside the building. When a building stays open during the work, painting has to fit around employees, customers and normal business operations, so access and scheduling are planned with the project team around the needs of the facility.

02Industrial

Operating industrial facilities

United Painting works in facilities that remain in operation. Work in an operating facility depends on coordination with facility operations, other trades, access requirements, schedules and project-specific safety procedures. Some work has to fit within a shutdown, an outage or another tightly controlled window; in those cases the work is coordinated around project sequencing and site requirements.

03Federal and controlled

Federal and controlled environments

United Painting has experience in federal facilities and in controlled, access-restricted project environments, where site access, documentation, safety and confidentiality are part of how the work is carried out.

United Painting has experience associated with Idaho National Laboratory (INL) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

Controlled-site requirements

  • Site access and security requirements
  • Project documentation
  • Project-specific safety procedures
  • Shutdown / outage scheduling

04Coordination

What coordination involves

Across these environments, the same points shape how painting and coating work is planned:

  • The project schedule and sequencing with other trades
  • Facility operations and access
  • Project-specific safety procedures
  • The project specification and required documentation

Work at height is carried out from scaffolding, boom lifts, scissor lifts and other aerial equipment, and confined-space work is performed by trained personnel following confined-space procedures.
