Scope

Tank and vessel work

  • Tank and vessel interiors
  • Tank and vessel exteriors
  • Tank and vessel coatings
  • Confined-space work with trained personnel

Interior

Interior coatings

Tank and vessel interiors are coated to the system named in the project specification. Interior work is often confined-space work, carried out by trained personnel following confined-space procedures.

Exterior

Exterior painting and coating

Exterior surfaces are prepared and painted or coated as specified. Elevated work is carried out from scaffolding, boom lifts, scissor lifts and other aerial equipment.

Preparation

Preparation and recoating

Before recoating, existing coatings, rust and corrosion are removed as the specification requires, including by self-performed abrasive blasting.

Where a tank or vessel sits inside an operating facility, the work is coordinated with facility operations, access requirements, schedules and project-specific safety procedures.
