Steel coatings and corrosion protection
United Painting provides surface preparation and coating application for structural and miscellaneous steel on new construction, maintenance and recoating projects. Where steel and other substrates are exposed to conditions that contribute to corrosion and coating deterioration, protective coating systems are applied over properly prepared surfaces.
Preparation
Preparation before coating
A coating system depends on the surface beneath it. Existing coatings, rust and contaminants are removed as the specification requires, using methods that range from washing and tool cleaning to self-performed abrasive blasting.
Environments
Industrial and controlled environments
Protective coating work is carried out in industrial facilities and in federal and controlled environments. In operating facilities it is coordinated with facility operations, other trades and site safety procedures; in access-restricted sites, site access, scheduling and documentation requirements are part of the plan.
